Egypt has the right to ask Fifa for compensation over costs of bidding for World Cup 2010, which its hosting rights went to South Africa, insists Liz Ellen, Head of Sports Law at Mishcon de Reya,  an international law firm.

"Had the Egyptian FA known that the World Cup would be going to South Africa through bribes?" Ellen said in an exclusive interview with Dotmsr.

"Fisrly, hey wouldn't went to contend to bid for the rights of organizing the tournament,"

"The Egyptian FA probably seek to recover the costs of it's campaign, but I don't know how much spent to host World Cup 2010," she added. "But by comparison with England that spent about 20m British Pound for hosting World Cup 2018, the Egyptian FA could be spent milions to host World Cup 2010, which means that Egypt shoul get a compinsation for losing its opportunity to host the World Cup

Ellen ruled out the idea of boycotting Fifa byThe Football Association and UEFA, "there are ongoing investigations by US and Switzerland, and we've to wait before we consider any boycote,"

"I think that we'll see many people involved in the investigatio in the next few months, and it may include the president himself. So, I think it's too early to say whether a boycott is necessary," she added.
